About us

JCI Illawarra is a member-based non-profit organisation. We are part of a global network of more than 200,000 young people aged 18-40, which is present in more than 100 countries. JCI is an organization that provides its members with opportunities that empower them to create positive change both in their life and the Illawarra region.

People join their local JCI Chapter for many different reasons. They might have a problem that they want to fix or an obstacle that they want to overcome. No matter why you join, you will always be in the presence of like-minded individuals who will share your vision for a better future.

JCI exists because there are limits to what governments are able to achieve. Being Australian means having rights and responsibilities, as well as shared goals. By joining JCI Illawarra, you will live out your sense of social responsibility and be part of an organisation that seeks to improve communities for future generations. JCI Illawarra members take action to help improve their local communities through local development initiatives.

By joining JCI Illawarra, you are automatically a member of Junior Chamber International. Becoming a JCI member means being part of a global network of like-minded citizens who believe in improving their local communities through active citizenship.
