The President is elected by financial members of JCI Illawarra at the annual AGM for a term of no more than one year. This role is responsible for overseeing the chapter’s successful operation throughout the year.
Upon the conclusion of each President’s term, they have the opportunity to continue their involvement with the chapter’s board as Immediate Past President, assisting their successor in understanding how to drive the chapter.
The purpose of this position is to assist JCI Illawarra Local President in maintaining a professional, strategic and developing chapter. The Vice President focuses on improving procedures and structures in partnership with the President and other Directors.
The role of Treasurer is an important one within a Board of Directors, as no program that involves finances can be successful without the leadership of a competent Treasurer.
The Executive Officer is responsible for the organisation’s corporate governance, administering the monthly board meetings as well as playing a key role in the processing of memberships.
This portfolio is charged with building and maintaining relationships both internal and external to the organisation. This Director is required to ensure that as an organisation we continue to provide services and events that are valued and meet our member’s needs.
JCI Illawarra has built a strong reputation on the back of its events and community projects. This portfolio is responsible for organising and managing the events of JCI Illawarra throughout the year.
The primary responsibility of this portfolio is to establish and facilitate a meaningful partnership with JCI Illawarra twinned Chapter through regular communications, project collaborations and visits.
This portfolio provides the voice of the organisation. It is responsible for facilitating communication between the chapter and its internal and external stakeholders.
A highly motivated, organised and passionate young professional currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Management with a Minor in Marketing at the University of Wollongong. I am currently a committee member for the Illawarra Cancer Carers generating upwards of $160,000 annually for cancer projects in the Illawarra. With extensive practical experience in managing teams of volunteers and developing training strategies and delivery I am a highly motivated and passionate individual striving to give back to the local Illawarra community.
Kevin has grown up in the Illawarra, graduating from UOW in 2010 with a BComm (Fin/Econ) and works as a Financial Adviser at Finance Control where he achieved the Certified Financial Planner designation in 2015. Kevin joined JCI Illawarra in 2015 with a desire to help build a community of other driven, young professionals to help one another create a positive impact through ongoing professional development and ongoing activity in our local community. He is seeking to build on his experience as 2016 Vice President and 2017 President in order to deliver value to members, partners and supporters of JCII. His long term goals are to facilitate equality and sustainability on both a local and global scale by bringing people together.
James is an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation – Insolvency. James leads the dispute resolution team at Access law Group. James graduated in law with first class honours from the University of Wollongong in 2008, and lives locally with his wife and two boys. He is passionate about assisting people and businesses to resolve their legal issues as quickly and cheaply as possible, and training and mentoring his team to achieve the highest standards.
James has been involved in JCI Illawarra since 2014, and has assisted to develop and run various JCI Illawarra Events. James also acts in a variety of pro bono matters, and Access Law Group is heavily involved in the local community, including sponsorships of local organisations and charities. James is a past director, and the current vice-president of JCI Illawarra, and is committed to developing the chapter further in 2017.
